Red Shoulders rarely take birds; they sen to prefer frogs, crawfish, and stream inhabitants (like water snakes). When things are frozen they seem to turn to voles, mice, etc. – they seem to leave the feeding songbirds alone. Infact, they are busy feeding very near to him.
