Posts Tagged ‘Black Gum tree turning much earlier than usual in Newton County Arkansas’

This particular tree was rooted next to the water but the hot dry “drought” has them fooled. They are generally variable as to the time of the year the leaves begin to turn crimson; but, this is by far the earliest I have ever seen. Their color is a little “off” and they look drier and slightly browner than usual, but considering the drought, it is a pleasant sight.
