Well ….. the storms of yesterday actually knocked out my power for 2 hours and therefore the weather station. The station recorded 1.13 inches of rain yesterday but only 0.01 or a Trace since midnight last night. That makes our weekly total 2.44 inches; more than we have received weekly since March. This rainfall plus the cooler weather for the next 4 – 5 days will do little to alleviate the huge drought; but it sure feels nice !

It is nearly noon and I am reading 69 degrees. Wonderful. There is still a chance for light amounts of rain yet today (Friday and tomorrow) but cool weather is also forecast. Some areas downstream on the Buffalo River got as much as 3 inches of new rain after midnight; but not here in the headwaters. Here is a picture I took of a sunrise last September the day after a frontal passage; let hop for this tomorrow morning. I am predicting a low in the upper 40’s for my home on Murray Road (we are always the coolest reading).:
