I drove into Jasper today and immediately noticed freezing/frozen fog on most mountain tops. The temperature in my yard was 37F but at 2000″ it was in the upper 20s. I drove up to above 2000′ on the way back and got a few iPhone photos:

Much warmer this morning. I went out early this morning and found patchy light fog and it had lifted by 7:45 AM except over the Buffalo River below Pruitt. The interaction with the sunlight was pretty, however. In 2 days the tree color change has advanced a bit, with more oranges, and yellows showing of the hillsides. Saw a White-Throated Sparrow in a changing dogwood on the way back:

These leaf examples were found and photographed yesterday, 9/26/14, in the afternoon. These are only examples and most of the same trees are unchanged yet. The fog was thick this morning and we had to wait until 8;30 to take any photos. The final photo is of an Orchard Oriole in a Sassafras Tree; all tasked with point and shoots.

Then it is foggy and hazy, and the sun has risen over Henderson Mountain (about 7 AM now), you get these views in late summer morning, when driving out. The first photo is of the tress flanking Murray Road, the second is up Highway 327 towards Wayton, AR., climbing Henderson Mountain:

We had nearly 2.5 inches of rain on December 20 thru 21, 2013. I drove to Steel Creek and to Ponca on that day and took a few photos with a point and shoot Canon G15. There were quite a few pour-offs flowing off Roark Bluff, and it only got heavier. The Ponca Bridge is the last photo.
