I drove down to Steel Creek today (2/13) and saw a small group of deer (mostly does) and a herd of Elk with the Bull watching his harem. Two of the largest does were sparring (boxing while standing on hind legs). They do this a lots in the spring long before dropping fawns to claim a grazing territory. Its’ mostly pointless, but it is a strong instinct:

Im always looking for photographs of White Winged Crows but, I guess I need to concentrate on stalking Elk to get them. The crow was between me and the Elk and I didn’t know I had one until I uploaded the photos:

A 7-point (large) White-tail buck versus an 8-point (larger) buck did a little sparring in a sweet gum grove tonight and then on the the clover patch; fun to watch and a whole lot of loud antlers. Taken through a themo-pane window at 6:30 PM 9/25/14 with a Canon 50D with a Canon EF400L f/5,6 lens:

The deer were out grazing and active last evening. It was warm and I had the sprinkler on; they were first curious about it and then got closer and closer to be sprayed and try to  drink. There was one large buck and 3 does and a fawn. I caught one doe making a 25-30+ foot leap and landing across the driveway, using a Canon 1DS with Canon EF 600L f/4.0 IS lens.

Saw these 3 in the road on the way home this morning: taken with Canon 50D with 100mm lens. They seem to like in a culvert pipe under the road.
